Aloe Vera Water Recipe

Best known for its external ability to soothe burnt and boo-booed skin, freshly de-skinned Aloe Vera can also be consumed for its wellness benefits. The properties of aloe can help detoxify internal toxins, regulate blood pressure, fight off free radicals, reduce inflammation and strengthen overall immunity. Nevertheless, Aloe Vera isn’t the easiest crop to consume – its gelatinous texture makes it very dis-pleasurable to gulp down, and that is what makes this recipe a true value. By blending the Aloe Vera flesh with water and lemon, the texture loosens, making it a more drinkable consistency.

Aloe Vera Water Recipe:

Ingredients and Equipment:

  • 1 cup of fresh Aloe Vera flesh
  • 2 cups  of filtered water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • blender
  • mason jars


  • Pour all of the ingredients into the blender and blend thoroughly.
  • Transfer to mason jar and refrigerate until ready to use.

How to consume:

  • You can drink the aloe water on its own or incorporate it into your juices, smoothies and other recipes. Aloe water can be stored in the fridge for up to 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Side effects:

A little goes a long way with aloe, it is recommended not to exceed 4 ounces of aloe vera a day, if over-consumed, you may experience over-detoxing symptoms such as fatigue, upset stomach and diarrhea.
